The V.I. Health Department confirmed the 105th COVID-related death in a statement issued at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as an 89-year-old man on St. Croix.
Health officials continue to urge residents to get vaccinated, noting that the COVID-19 vaccine can prevent severe illness and death. To schedule an appointment for a vaccine, call 340-777-8227 or visit covid19usvi.com/vaccines. Walk-ins are also accepted at the community vaccination centers on St. Thomas and St. Croix.
