Guess the rent of this bright, cozy duplex near San Antonio College – mySA

This charming duplex in the Alta Vista neighborhood has interior that is blooming with sunlight.
San Antonio’s real estate market is going to be hot this year. (Hotter than Austin!) And San Antonio rents aren’t dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.
We’re heading east from Woodlawn Lake this week to peek into this recently updated one-bedroom, one-bathroom listing in the Alta Vista neighborhood near San Antonio College.
I like this one. It’s bright inside, which you will see very soon. It’s all thanks to the windows in this abode.
This is a 750-square-foot one-bedroom unit in a duplex. With it being so close to SAC, maybe a student to make use of that living space.
The home is also near the St. Mary’s Strip and not much farther from the Pearl. So could a student afford it?
Let’s dive in.
See? The amount of windows in this duplex let in so much light.
See what I mean by “bright?” The windows along the front and side of the home let this living room-bedroom glow. A home with natural light always makes a place feel more like home.
The light only continues to flow through the double doors and into another room.
If we turn around we see that the natural light bounces off the wood flooring and carries past the double doors. You do have to worry about things warming up with natural light, but this duplex unit has central air.
This room could be used as a dining room being so close to the kitchen.
This leads into another room with even more windows and a little sitting nook. Every inch of this duplex seems to have received a fresh coat of paint.
The deep teal cabinets definitely pop so I’m not entirely against the color.
The cabinets in this kitchen were definitely painted recently and the deep teal pops. I’m not a fan, but I’m also not against it either.
The bathroom with a walk-in shower seems a little tight.
And then we have the bathroom, which seems a little tight from looking at the photo. I’m not expecting a large bathroom in a 750-square-foot apartment, but you might find yourself sidling in towards the toilet.
So how much will one pay for this small but cozy duplex unit? The Craigslist post says monthly rent is $1,399 with utilities and Wi-Fi included.
Zumper says average monthly rent for a one-bedroom in the area is $912.
