Daily news

This home looks like it dates back to the early 20th century with the outdoor curtains and window awnings.
More people have been looking to move to San Antonio in 2022. (Especially from Austin!) People are losing homebuying power and San Antonio rents aren’t dropping. From finding your perfect new home to negotiating rent prices, searching for an apartment in San Antonio can be quite the experience. Taking inspiration from our sister publication SFGate in San Francisco, MySA is looking at local properties showcasing the best, worst, and everything in between here in the Alamo City. Let’s guess the rent.
Last week we looked at a home in Government Hill that was just a skip and a hop away from the Pearl. No we are heading east back to the Dignowity Hill area that appears to be attracting a lot people coming in and flipping homes. (There’s a name for that.) The Craigslist post says it’s a “desirable” home.
This three-bedroom home at 1223 N. Olive St., San Antonio, TX 78202, has been completely “gutted and remodeled” and remodeled, according to its old Sotheby’s listing. The fact that it was listed on Sotheby’s should be an indicator that this home might run a little high in terms of rent.
Coming in at 1,700 square-feet, this home is not far from Alamo Heights an offers a straight shot into downtown San Antonio.
How much do you think it’ll cost?
Let’s jump in.
The ceiling fan in this room hangs a little low.
You know where we have to start. It should be assumed that the furniture will not come with the rental unless it says otherwise. That’s not the case with this listing. However, it’s still used as a selling point in most. It does give you a sense of the space you have to work with. It doesn’t look like much.
There is an office nook in the living room.
If you need to do some (or all) work from home there is an office nook near the living room.
The kitchen has been updated with stone countertops and stainless steel appliances.
You can tell the home has been remodeled with the updated stainless steel appliances and granite countertops. How much do you think the asking rent will be?
I’m not sure what’s going on here.
I don’t think these portraits come with the home.
The bathroom comes with a walk-in shower lined with granite tile.
A pretty typical bathroom with granite tiling and a standard toilet. I wish we could see the sink.
Moving on.
I’m not sure if the bedroom comes with these antique furnishings.
And then we have one of the three bedrooms furnished with some antique looking furniture. The room does look a little tight when it comes to space.
You could easily entertain on this covered porch.
This porch is very charming. The awning and the tile make it a definite win for this home.
So how much will this home cost you? The Craigslist post lists the rent at $3,000 per month. Zumper says the average rent for a three-bedroom home in the area is $2,800.
