The 2022 Powerlifting America (AMP) Classic Open Nationals took place on April 1, 2022, in Austin, TX, and featured some of the US’s top raw powerlifters clashing across weight classes for the Best Overall Lifter titles. Additionally, qualification points for the 2022 International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) World Classic Open Championships were up for grabs.
Amanda Lawrence, competing in the 84-kilogram weight class, and Jonathan Cayco, competing in the 93-kilogram class, were awarded Best Overall Lifter in the Women’s and Men’s divisions. Heather Connor, at 47-kilograms, ranked as the runner-up — just over four IPF points behind Lawrence — and Chance Mitchell, also at 93 kilograms, missed besting Cayco but just over one point.
